Role Summary

The role of the Home Care Support Worker is to provide support to our aged care clients who reside in their own homes. Support workers are tasked with providing person-centered care aimed at maintaining the independence and happiness of their clients. This may involve undertaking duties such as assistance with daily living tasks or personal care needs, medication administration or the preparation and serving of meals. It may also include reporting back to coordinators on the progress of care and client satisfaction with services. The role is also responsible for transporting clients and domestic tasks such as house cleaning.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Taking clients out for social outings and activities, shopping trips or GP/specialist appointments.
  • Servicing clients at their respective homes with activities of daily living such as toileting, showering, and dressing.
  • Light domestic duties and meal preparation/eating assistance.
  • Medication administration duties. 
  • Liaising with the families and representatives of your client as required.

 

We are hiring on a Peramanent Part-time basis! Looking for candidates located in Balga, Midland and surrounding suburbs.

Skills, Attributes and Experience

The ideal candidate will pride themselves on their ability to deliver person-centered care that values the choice and goals of the client. They will have the people skills to build and maintain meaningful, lasting relationships with their clients. They will also demonstrate a commitment to being a productive and positive member of the broader home care team.

As well as the above skills, the Key Requirements include:

  • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Working With Children Check issued in Western Australia.
  • Previous experience as a support worker in the health/aged care sector or a relevant Cert III qualification is essential.
