Role Summary

As a Disability Support Worker at St Jude’s, you will support clients living in supported accommodation by building strong, professional relationships and assisting them to achieve their goals. Working within the NDIS framework, you will help clients increase their independence, participate in the community, and manage daily living activities, providing tailored support to individuals with disability and/or psychosocial needs.

Skills, Attributes and Experience

The ideal candidate is committed to delivering person-centred care that respects each client’s choices and goals. You will have strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful, lasting relationships, and work collaboratively with fellow support workers and coordinators to maintain accurate documentation, develop individualised care plans, and address any challenges within the home.

 

Key Criteria:

 

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and WA Working with Children Check, or willigness to obtain 
  • Proof of working rights (passport or visa)
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • Previous experience as a support worker or a relevant Cert III (desirable, not essential)
  • Experience supporting clients with mental health needs (highly regarded)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide support with daily living activities including personal care, dressing, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Deliver tailored support to clients with psychosocial needs
  • Assist with social outings, shopping, and appointments
  • Liaise with families and client representatives as required
  • Promote positive behaviours, skill development, and meaningful learning experiences
