Title: Disability Support Workers
Role Summary
The Disability Support Worker role involves supporting clients who live in accommodation provided by St Jude’s. You will work closely with multiple clients, building strong rapport and maintaining meaningful, professional relationships. Operating within the NDIS funding framework, you will support clients to achieve their individual goals, increase independence, and actively participate in their community. This role includes providing practical and person-centred support to individuals with disability and/or psychosocial needs, enabling them to complete all aspects of daily living.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, showering, dressing, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Provide individualised support to clients with psychosocial needs
- Support clients to attend social outings, shopping trips, and appointments
- Liaise with clients’ families, carers, and representatives as required
- Promote positive behaviours, learning opportunities, and skill development to enhance independence

Skills, Attributes and Experience
The ideal candidate is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care that respects and promotes each client’s individual choices and goals. You will have strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to build and maintain meaningful, long-term professional relationships with clients. You will work collaboratively with fellow support workers and your Coordinator to ensure accurate progress notes and reports are maintained, contribute to the development of individualised care plans, and proactively problem-solve any issues that arise within the home.
Key Criteria:
- Possess or be willing to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check and WA Working With Children Check
- Proof of working rights (passport or valid visa)
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Previous experience as a Support Worker in the health or disability sector, or a relevant Certificate III qualification (highly desirable but not essential)
- Experience supporting clients with mental health conditions will be highly regarded
