Role Summary

The Community Support Worker role involves supporting clients within the NDIS framework to achieve their individual goals while enhancing their independence and community participation. You will assist people with disability and/or psychosocial needs with daily living activities, while fostering positive behaviours, skill development, and meaningful learning experiences to help them build confidence and live more independently.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supporting clients to attend social outings, community activities, shopping trips, and medical or specialist appointments
  • Providing in-home assistance with personal care tasks, including toileting, showering, and dressing
  • Completing light household tasks and assisting with meal preparation and mealtime support
  • Administering medications in accordance with care plans and guidelines
  • Communicating and collaborating with clients’ families and representatives as needed

 

This role is being hired on a permanent part-time position and works across Mandurah, Rockingham and surrounding suburbs. We are looking for candidates with strong and flexible availability! The more availability you have, the more shifts we can offer. 

Skills, Attributes and Experience

The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering person-centred care that respects and supports each client’s individual choices and goals. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, enabling them to build and maintain meaningful, long-term relationships with clients. A commitment to contributing positively and productively within the wider home and community team is essential.

 

Key Criteria:

 

  • Possess or be willing to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check and WA Working with Children Check 
  • Valid proof of working rights (Australian Passport or appropriate visa)
  • Obtain a valid driver’s licence and have access to a reliable vehicle
  • Previous experience as a Support Worker within the health or disability sector, or a relevant Certificate III qualification (highly desirable but not essential)
