Title: Casual Support Workers
Role Summary
We are seeking dedicated and passionate Support Workers in Bunbury to support clients living in St Jude’s accommodation services and within the community. You will build positive and professional relationships while assisting individuals to achieve their NDIS goals, increase independence and actively participate in daily life. This role involves providing person-centred support to people with disability and/or psychosocial needs, including assistance with daily living tasks, community access and skill development in line with individual support plans.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Providing assistance with activities of daily living including toileting, showering, dressing, cooking and cleaning
- Providing individual support to clients with disability and/or psychosocial needs
- Supporting clients to access the community, including social outings, shopping trips and appointments
- Liaising with families and client representatives as required
- Promoting positive behaviours, learning opportunities, independence and skill development
We are seeking individuals with flexible availability who are willing to pick up shifts at short notice. The greater your availability, the more opportunities and roles we can consider you for!
Skills, Attributes and Experience
The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering person-centred care that respects each client’s choices and goals. You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive, meaningful relationships with clients. You will work collaboratively with fellow colleagues and your Coordinator to maintain accurate progress notes and reports, contribute to individualised support plans and problem-solve effectively.
Key Criteria Includes:
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check and WA Working with Children Check
- Proof of working rights (valid passport or visa)
- Valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle
- Previous experience as a support worker in the health or disability sector will be highly regarded
