Title: Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and NDIS-registered Behaviour Support Practitioner at Core or Proficient level to join our dynamic, interdisciplinary allied health team. In this role, you will work with a diverse caseload of both adult and paediatric clients. You will collaborate closely with individuals with disability, their families, support networks, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, evidence-based, and culturally responsive behaviour support services. Your expertise will contribute to empowering clients to achieve meaningful outcomes and live the life they choose.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Undertaking comprehensive functional behaviour assessments
- Developing and implementing individualised, person-centered positive behaviour support plans
- Providing services to clients that teach and encourage appropriate behaviours
- Upskilling others in the person's life to encourage and support positive behaviours
- Reducing challenging behaviours and working towards the reduction or elimination of restrictive practices
- Working cooperatively with families and the broader allied health team to ensure best practice service delivery
Skills, Attributes and Experience
- NDIS registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Core or Proficient level (or eligibility to be recognised at this level)
- Previous experience working with people with a disability in the context of positive behaviour support
- Strong analytical, report-writing, and clinical reasoning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment
- Must possess or be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
