Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Head of People & Culture, the Human Resources Officer is responsible for the provision of support and advice to stakeholders in relation to a range of HR related functions, with a strong focus on training and compliance across the business. The focus is to support HR administration, compliance, position management, employee records, employee relations, training and development and policy compliance. The HR Officer provides administrative and operational support across the employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain accurate employee records and process HR changes (such as role updates, secondments and terminations).
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and organisational policies through audits and process monitoring. 
  • Support onboarding, contracts, compliance documents and induction tasks.
  • Assist with routine HR audits and data checks to ensure adherence to legislation, awards, and organisational policy.
  • Respond to basic HR queries and escalate more complex matters to an HR Advisor.
  • Prepare standard HR letters, documents and reports.
  • Provide timely guidance on routine processes such as timesheets, system navigation, and basic HR policy questions. 
  • Assist with People & Culture initiatives and projects including system enhancements, process improvements and HR communications.
  • Liaise with People & Culture team members to ensure a consistent and efficient employee experience.

Skills, Attributes and Experience

  • Qualification or studies in Human Resources (or related field) is highly desirable, but not required. 
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Confidence using MS Office, especially Excel.
  • HRIS experience is desirable, but not required.
