Role Summary

The role of the Occupational Therapist is to create, enhance and maintain purposeful activities at the facility through initial assessments, partaking in care planning and developing therapy programs for the residents across our residential aged care facilities. The goal of the role is to enable the residents to achieve their maximum potential and to live as independently within the facility as possible. You will be led by a supportive management team and work closely with a team of like-minded individuals at the facility who share common goals.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assessing and evaluating Occupational Therapy needs and developing care plans that support the maintenance of our clients' independence
  • Contributing to the implementation, review and evaluation of Occupational Therapy care plans
  • Monitoring, analysing and evaluating services in order to measure progress and ensure the effectiveness of the intervention
  • High level resource in supporting residents with behaviours and associated documentation

 

This role is being hired on either a permanent part-time or full-time basis and works across all of our WA facilities (Guildford, Midland and Bicton)! Flexible availability is a must.

The ideal candidate will pride themselves on their ability to build and deliver person-centered care that values the choice of the client. They will have the people skills to build and maintain meaningful, lasting relationships with their clients. They will also demonstrate a commitment to being a productive and positive team player at the facility, and in creating a homely, healthy and happy atmosphere.  

 

Key Criteria Includes:

 

  • Holding a relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
  • Previous experience working within residential aged care will be highly regarded but is not essential
  • Experience in behavioural support and dementia care highly regarded
