Title: Maintenance Officer
Role Summary
Our Maintenance Officer provides quality maintenance and gardening services to the Guildford Village facility, hostel and surrounding grounds. You'll be responsible for typical duties such as maintaining garden beds, lawn mowing, reticulation maintenance, overseeing maintenance contractors, pruning, window cleaning and anything else of a similar nature that is required. In providing these services to the facility, you will play a crucial role in bettering the lives of our residents and contributing to creating a homely environment for them.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Procuring maintenance services/equipment and overseeing the work of contractors.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Updating records and keeping stock for all required chemicals/equipment.
- Identifying potential hazards/risks and taking preventative actions to address them.
- Fertilising and aerating lawns. Trimming and pruning trees.
- Maintenance and cleaning for the windows, entrances/exits and car park.
- Contributing towards a customer service experience for the residents.
This role is being hired on a permanent full-time basis and works out of our charming Guilford Village facility.
Skills, Attributes and Experience
You’ll bring solid hands-on experience in maintenance and gardening, with confidence in carrying out a wide range of practical tasks. Ideally, you’ll also have a sound understanding of facility services and equipment, including systems related to gas, water, and power. What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience in maintenance and/or gardening
- A good understanding of facility infrastructure (gas, water, power)
- A friendly, service-focused approach with pride in your work
- Previous experience in health or aged care (desirable but not essential)
- Relevant trade qualifications (desirable but not essential)
- Must obtain a valid driver's licence
- Possess or be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check and a National Police Clearance
