Title: Maintenance Officer
Role Summary
Our Maintenance Officer plays an essential role in keeping Midland Nursing Home looking its best. You’ll be responsible for a range of maintenance and gardening tasks including lawn mowing, pruning, garden bed upkeep, reticulation maintenance, window cleaning, and coordinating contractors. Your work helps create a welcoming, well-kept environment that enhances the comfort and quality of life for our residents!
Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordinate maintenance services and equipment procurement
- Oversee and support the work of external contractors
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate records and stock of chemicals and equipment
- Identify and address potential hazards to maintain a safe environment
- Fertilise, aerate and care for lawns, trees and garden areas
- Carry out general maintenance and cleaning of windows, entrances and car parks
- Contribute to a positive, customer-focused experience for residents
This role is being hired on a permanent full-time basis and works out of our charming facility in Midland.
Skills, Attributes and Experience
You’ll bring solid hands-on experience in maintenance and gardening, with confidence in carrying out a wide range of practical tasks. Ideally, you’ll also have a sound understanding of facility services and equipment, including systems related to gas, water, and power. Your strong customer service skills and attention to detail will make a real difference in the day-to-day lives of those in our care.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience in maintenance and/or gardening
- A good understanding of facility infrastructure (gas, water, power)
- A friendly, service-focused approach with pride in your work
- Previous experience in health or aged care (desirable but not essential)
- Relevant trade qualifications (desirable but not essential)
- Must obtain a valid driver's licence
- Possess or be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check and a National Police Clearance
