Our elite, charming residential aged care facility, Midland Nursing Home, has been caring for the elderly in Perth's East community since 1972. Role Summary
The Chef is responsible for ensuring that the standard and quality of the food offerings, as well as the hygiene and safety procedures, are maintained to the highest of standards at all times. The role is tasked with seeking constant customer satisfaction, all while adhering to nutritional requirements. The position is designed to lead a kitchen team who will thrive on delivering outstanding food and services, with a focus on keeping their clients happy. This is a hands on role that requires dedication, attention to detail and a positive professional attitude.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for purchasing and stock management for the facility
- Designing and adjusting menu items and service offerings
- Supervising and training new kitchen/hospitality staff
- Overseeing impeccable food safety standards and practices
This role is located at our Midland Nursing Home Facility and will be hired on a permanent full-time basis
Skills, Attributes and Experience
Our ideal candidate will have significant previous experience within the food services industry, ideally within health/aged care. They will have strong time management skills, the ability to work to deadlines and the ability to maintain an organised, process-driven workplace. We are looking for someone who will be able to easily prioritise the health and safety of residents, all while delivering a menu that is creative, exciting and especially tasty! Our ideal candidate will be a natural people person who will inspire and drive the rest of their team to share in collective goal of delivering a wonderful end product to clients.
Key selection criteria includes:
- Experience working with specialised dietary requirements
- Experience designing and delivering menu's/service offerings
- Knowledge of food safety protocols/procedures for the aged care sector
- Experience leading hospitality teams or hospitality venues
