Title: Catering Assistant
Role Summary
The Catering Assistants take responsibility for providing the absolute best practice services around food preparation and delivery, kitchen and dining room cleanliness, with a focus on food safety/hygiene and on the efficient delivery of delicious food to the residents at Midland Nursing Home.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Following food preparation instructions from the cook
- Ensuring that the dining room and food service areas are clean, prepared and well presented
- Monitoring compliance with the nutritional requirements of residents, according to individual dietary needs guides
- Serving, plating and delivering food
- Washing up, removing wastage and cleaning the kitchen and dining room
- Ensuring that food supplies are stored at appropriate temperatures and with appropriate stock levels
Skills, Attributes and Experience
Our ideal candidates will have previous experience working within residential facilities and be familiar with the various standards and procedures that are consistent within the aged care sector. They will have an understanding of the health and safety requirements associated with working with food within a healthcare environment and pay strict attention to detail as they work. They will also be able to work independently or as part of a small team, and will be happy taking direction from the Cook. Our ideal candidates are passionate about what they do and enjoy playing a key role in the day-to-day lives of the residents at the facility!
Key Selection Criteria:
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Must have work rights in Australia (Passport or Visa)
- Relevant experience in the industry will be highly regarded
