Role Summary

The Administration Support Officer is responsible for a broad range of administrative duties, and seeks to support the facility management and nursing teams at Midland Nursing Home. No two days are the same in this role, but some of the typical duties include playing a key role in managing staff rosters, absences and timesheets, as well as staying on top of staff training programs and attendance. The role also ensures that various different records and administrative functions are maintained to a high standard and ensures that OH&S policies are being adhered to around the facility. Most of all, the role is expected to buy into the continuous improvement model adopted by the facility, and looks to add value and contribute wherever possible.   

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assisting with the preparation and issuing of fortnightly staff rosters
  • Collecting compliance documentation for the onboarding of new staff
  • Assisting management with audit preparations and participation
  • Maintaining the forms, documents and policies utilised by the facility

This role is being hired on a permanent full time basis and is located at the Midland Nursing Home.

Skills, Attributes and Experience

We are looking for someone who is energetic, proactive and a real people person. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable working with people from all walks of life, and with working in a health care setting. They will be an excellent communicator and listener, take instructions on board easily and go above and beyond as a team member. It will also be highly desirable that our successful candidate pays keen attention to the details in everything, and is able to pick up on mistakes or errors as they work. We are also hoping to find someone who has the resilience to work in a challenging sector, as well as the confidence to suggest process changes to their management for the better of the facility.       

As well as the above skills, the Key Requirements include:

  • Previous experience working within the aged care or other health sectors is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Successful candidates must possess or be willing to obtain required credentials including NDIS clearance
